macro photography by I l z e A r a j s
October 1 - November 5, 2017
Have you ever returned again and again to an image from nature that connects you to your own inner vitality, tenderness and promise of new growth? For Ilze Arajs that image has been the fiddlehead of many different kinds of ferns on the verge of unfurling. Although they are only 1-2 inches tall when photographed, she discovered that when printed much larger (closer to human scale) these fiddlehead images capture the energy and light-filled spaciousness of her original close-up early morning observations.
You are invited to view over 30 macro photograph prints in this solo exhibit at Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods. Admission and parking is free.
